It has since become a breakthrough model in the field of NLP, significantly improving the state-of-the-art on a wide range of tasks.

One of the key innovations in BERT is its use of the transformer architecture, which allows the model to process input text in a bidirectional manner. Prior to BERT, most NLP models processed text in a left-to-right or right-to-left fashion, which limited their ability to understand the context of words in relation to the rest of the input. BERT, on the other hand, processes the entire input sentence at once, taking into account the context of each word in relation to all the other words in the sentence. This allows the model to better understand the meaning of words and the relationships between them.

Another key feature of BERT is its ability to handle a wide range of NLP tasks without the need for task-specific modifications. This is made possible by its use of pre-training on a large dataset, which allows the model to learn general-purpose language representations that can be fine-tuned for specific tasks.

BERT has been applied to a variety of NLP tasks, including question answering, sentiment analysis, and language translation, and has consistently achieved state-of-the-art performance on many of these tasks. In addition, BERT has been used as a building block for other NLP models, such as RoBERTa and ALBERT, which have further pushed the boundaries of NLP performance.

Overall, Google BERT has proven to be a major advancement in the field of NLP and has opened up new possibilities for using natural language processing in a wide range of applications. Its success has demonstrated the power of transformer-based models and the importance of context in understanding natural language.
Health Experthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12775259257882393659noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5938223248079333254.post-40973334254424416742022-12-17T23:47:00.000+05:302022-12-17T23:47:09.851+05:30Exploring the Latest Updates to Google's Search Algorithm 2023
Google's search algorithms are constantly evolving and being updated to provide the best possible search results to users. The company does not disclose specific details about the inner workings of its algorithms, but it has shared some general information about the factors that it takes into account when ranking search results.

One of the key factors that Google considers when ranking search results is the relevance of the content on a webpage to the search query. This includes looking at the use of keywords and phrases on the page, as well as the overall topic and theme of the content. Google also looks at the quality of the content, including whether it is well-written, informative, and accurate.

In addition to the content of the page, Google also considers the credibility and authority of the website. This includes looking at the number and quality of other websites that link to the page, as well as the overall reputation and trustworthiness of the website.

Google also takes into account the user experience when ranking search results. This includes factors such as the speed at which the page loads, the design and layout of the page, and the presence of ads and other distractions.

One of the latest updates to Google's search algorithm is the emphasis on mobile-friendliness. Google Search has earned its reputation as highly sensitive to user experience, which explains why more users prefer its search engine over that of Yahoo or Bing. (Google commands 90 percent of all desktop searches worldwide; 92 percent for mobile searches.)
<p data-bind="text: $data" style="-webkit-hyphenate-character: "-"; background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Merriweather, serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px; overflow: hidden; padding: 0px; text-overflow: ellipsis; vertical-align: baseline;">

<p data-bind="text: $data" style="-webkit-hyphenate-character: "-"; background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Merriweather, serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px; overflow: hidden; padding: 0px; text-overflow: ellipsis; vertical-align: baseline;">How do search engines meet users’ expectation? Google has been using a complex and ever evolving process of delivering search results, but the main idea has stayed the same: to provide its users original and high-quality content. How does Google know if a website’s content is of high quality? There are many ways, and new ones are coming up everyday, either to enhance its processes or to “police” SEO cheats. (To the horror of not a few website owners, money-making and highly monetized websites that have been ranking high in search results for months can disappear the next day, and many of them might not know what happened.)
<p data-bind="text: $data" style="-webkit-hyphenate-character: "-"; background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Merriweather, serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px; overflow: hidden; padding: 0px; text-overflow: ellipsis; vertical-align: baseline;">

<p data-bind="text: $data" style="-webkit-hyphenate-character: "-"; background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Merriweather, serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px; overflow: hidden; padding: 0px; text-overflow: ellipsis; vertical-align: baseline;">The more widely known factors by which quality of website content can be determined are user engagement and the so-called backlinks. If you are a website administrator and you link your website to Google Analytics (like Google Search, Google Analytics is a free service) or from the control panel of your webhost, you can access the following information: who visited your website (visitors are called
<p data-bind="text: $data" style="-webkit-hyphenate-character: "-"; background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Merriweather, serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px; overflow: hidden; padding: 0px; text-overflow: ellipsis; vertical-align: baseline;">- verse they visited, when the visit took place, which page or pages of your website were visited, and how long the visitor stayed in each page of your website. The analytics also reveals the IP (short for Internet Protocol) address used by the visitor. Therefore you have a way of knowing if the visitor was unique or one who returns to visit at quite an unusual interval or frequency, which can prompt search engines to (short for web robots). Needless to say, if your visiit will tell Google that the content of your website is of high quality. To this end giants like Facebook and Google have invested billions in apps to tempt their users to prolong their stay on their pages. Facebook, for example, has Messenger, Games and, lately, Dating; Google has legion of free apps as well — Gmail, Maps, Images, Search Engine and another giant, YouTube, just to name a few. Alexa in fact ranks them at the top (Google at number one, YouTube at number two, and Facebook at number 6, Wikipedia at number 9) among billions of websites worldwide that attract the most of user engagement.
<p data-bind="text: $data" style="-webkit-hyphenate-character: "-"; background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Merriweather, serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px; overflow: hidden; padding: 0px; text-overflow: ellipsis; vertical-align: baseline;">

<p data-bind="text: $data" style="-webkit-hyphenate-character: "-"; background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Merriweather, serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px; overflow: hidden; padding: 0px; text-overflow: ellipsis; vertical-align: baseline;">Another key factor for ranking high in search engine results is called backlinks. When I cited Wiki
<p data-bind="text: $data" style="-webkit-hyphenate-character: "-"; background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Merriweather, serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px; overflow: hidden; padding: 0px; text-overflow: ellipsis; vertical-align: baseline;">I consider its content to be of high quality. When this article gets posted online and a hyperlink to that source is created, that means a backlink for Wikipedia. org has been generated. The more backlinks a website has, the more convinced Google will be that that website’s content is of high quality.
<p data-bind="text: $data" style="-webkit-hyphenate-character: "-"; background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Merriweather, serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px; overflow: hidden; padding: 0px; text-overflow: ellipsis; vertical-align: baseline;">Over the course of time, however, backlinking has become a wide frontier for SEO cheaters. Up to this day, softwares like SENuke that generate thousands of backlinks for websites on auto-pilot are still thriving. (They evolve as often as search engines do.) Because of persisting “blackhat” SEO practices, Google sometimes drop websites from its search rankings altogether. Bots are busy everywhere, creating impressions of active user engagement for a particular website content. At Fiverr.com, for example, you can buy 25 thousand Facebook likes for $5.
<p data-bind="text: $data" style="-webkit-hyphenate-character: "-"; background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Merriweather, serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px; overflow: hidden; padding: 0px; text-overflow: ellipsis; vertical-align: baseline;">

<p data-bind="text: $data" style="-webkit-hyphenate-character: "-"; background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Merriweather, serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px; overflow: hidden; padding: 0px; text-overflow: ellipsis; vertical-align: baseline;">Unique content also helps rank websites in search engine results. This explains why large and the so- called authority websites with a steady supply of fresh, unique content, like Wikipedia and news sites that have maintained their online presence for a long time, rank high especially for high- traffic keywords.
<p data-bind="text: $data" style="-webkit-hyphenate-character: "-"; background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Merriweather, serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px; overflow: hidden; padding: 0px; text-overflow: ellipsis; vertical-align: baseline;">

<p data-bind="text: $data" style="-webkit-hyphenate-character: "-"; background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Merriweather, serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px; overflow: hidden; padding: 0px; text-overflow: ellipsis; vertical-align: baseline;">For webmasters, SEO used to be a simple and straightforward process. The basic inputs include getting your website (that is, your domain name) listed by search engines. Do-follow tags and site to crawl your content. Domain names are also important; seo.com may not outrank Wikipedia for the search keyword “seo”. But whatisseo. com may outrank Wikipedia if the search keyword is changed to “what is seo.” Whatisseo.com may also outrank whatisseo.ph or tips.seo.com for the same keywords. All other things being equal, a domain name that has been registered a decade ago will often outrank a website whose domain name was registered only lately.

<p data-bind="text: $data" style="-webkit-hyphenate-character: "-"; background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Merriweather, serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px; overflow: hidden; padding: 0px; text-overflow: ellipsis; vertical-align: baseline;">Early SEO techniques included keyword density. An 800-word article about rockstar Duterte will dominate search engine results for the search keywords “rockstar Duterte” if its title or subtitle and at least 30 percent of the article content is populated by those keywords. Google eventually became ambiguous about using this criterion, as bots churned out content that, while pleasing to crawlers, were rubbish to humans. Organizing content in a silo also helps crawlers to analyze the relevance of your content to search engine users. Blog farms can overcook the silo, and Google, in its dictatorial reign, can unilaterally trash them like they are yesterday’s leftovers.
<p data-bind="text: $data" style="-webkit-hyphenate-character: "-"; background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Merriweather, serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px; overflow: hidden; padding: 0px; text-overflow: ellipsis; vertical-align: baseline;">

<p data-bind="text: $data" style="-webkit-hyphenate-character: "-"; background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Merriweather, serif; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px; overflow: hidden; padding: 0px; text-overflow: ellipsis; vertical-align: baseline;">Experts recommend that the quickest way to weight loss or anti-aging products; or followers for an idea, say charter change, or for mobilizing a partisan community, say during an election) is to advertise with either Google or Facebook. Another option, which costs almost nothing unless you are hiring webmasters and SEO consultants, is to create online content that ranks high in search engine results for the keywords with which you are selling a product or an idea.
Health Experthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12775259257882393659noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5938223248079333254.post-32345596683930677572017-11-27T20:37:00.000+05:302017-11-27T20:38:51.946+05:30'Colossus' spotted on Google Moon (Video)

Google Earth and bears an uncanny resemblance to what the ancient statue, "The Colossus of Rhodes", is thought to have looked like before it was felled into the harbor of the Greek island by a massive earthquake in 226 BC.

What is it?

In the video posted here, published to YouTube on July 18, the unusual, shadowy figure was found by an intrepid anomaly hunter named Jasenko poring over the millions of images published by Google Earth that make up the Google Moon landscape.

Pinpointing a desolate stretch of the lunar surface, YouTuber wowforreeel zeroes in on the figure, orients it to a horizontal angle and zooms in on the increasingly odd shadow which looks like a statue of a man, giant legs spread apart and perhaps thousands of feet high.

Of course, the shadow might be explained in a number of ways, particularly as a trick of light or a camera lens glitch.

But, if those explanations are ruled out, it still leaves the question of what this object is, since it appears to be rising a great distance from the surface of the Moon.

The unusual figure recalls an earlier anomaly, known as "The Shard" and taken by a lunar orbiter back in 1967.

The quality of that image is nowhere near as fine and detailed as this one, but it caused serious speculation in its day, before NASA landed on the Moon, by those wondering what kind of object could have cast such a giant shadow.

This may be just another example of Pareidolia, what Wikipedia explains is "a psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus being perceived as significant. Common examples include seeing images of animals or faces in clouds, the Man in the Moon and hearing hidden messages on records when played in reverse."

Whatever this object is, it's certainly set apart from other anomalies found by paranormal researchers scanning Google Earth for strange phenomenon.

Google executives have been discussing plans for the company to offer its own wireless carrier service within the United States. As the Verge reports (April 4), sources reveal that Google had prior talks with existing U.S. wireless carriers about a possible partnership.

Google’s interests are moving in the direction of purchasing carrier network access to resell to customers, according to The Information. Unnamed sources suggest that Google is trying to situate a deal with a major U.S. carrier to become a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO). As an MVNO, Google would buy network access from the carrier for a wholesale price and then offer the mobile service to consumers.

Sources also said that Google is looking to provide wireless carrier service in areas where its Google Fiber high speed internet already exists. Reportedly, inside talks happening over at Google headquarters include running the idea by Verizon earlier this year. In 2013, Google allegedly talked to Sprint before the wireless carrier was acquired by Softbank.

While Google Fiber networks are set up in Kansas City, Mo. and Provo, Utah, Google hopes to broaden its presence. Currently on the horizon is an expansion to Austin, Texas with placement in Atlanta, Portland, Ore., San Jose, Calif. and other cities to follow in the future.

If everything goes according to plans, Google’s wireless service could mean savings for potential customers. It’s likely that a Google Wireless/Google Fiber package deal would offer wireless smartphone, TV and internet for a competitive price. For example, Verizon offers its customers savings for bundling their Verizon Wireless service with Verizon FiOS for internet, TV and home phone.

The Information speculates that Google may want to rely on a wireless carrier solely when its Fiber network Wi-Fi access points are not available or up to par. Similarly, to minimize network congestion, AT&T implements the method of transferring network users to Wi-Fi hotspots.

If Google is seeking to team up with a wireless carrier on this project, Verizon with its nationwide coverage may be the best option.

Build your sites
in a text editor, and write clean, human-readable HTML. The HTML should follow
the conceptual structure of the page, navigation first, followed by the H1 tag,
then the first paragraph, etc. Try to use descriptive tags when possible. Use
UL for lists, P for paragraphs, H tags for heads and subheads, and STRONG for
bolded text. Don’t overuse Divs. Your site can still be artistic and cool,
that’s what CSS is for.

Rule Four: The Home Page is the Most Important Page

Your home page
is the key to your site being found by search engines. It should summarize the
rest of the site, and give a clear, compelling reason for a user to look at the
other pages in the site.

Rule Five: Links Have Meaning

Search engines
pay a lot of attention to the links on your site, and the words used in those
links. Never use “click here” or “see more” for a link. The link text should
describe where the link will take the user, such as “more examples of CSS web
design” or “learn how we can improve your SEO.”

The more
relevant the links on a page, the more findable the page becomes. Don’t go
overboard, and don’t link to anything irrelevant. If your page is focused on
minimalist web design, a link to the Design MeltDown page on minimalism will
boost your SEO. A link to a hilarious picture of a cat will not.

Rule Six: Title Tags for the Win

Every page in
your site should have a title with the site name and a short description of the
page. About 60 letters total. Include a keyword. Remember that the page title
is what appears in search results, it should give users a clear reason to click
on it.

Your navigation
links should have title attributes that match the titles of your pages. This
looks like . It’s a small thing, but
it will give you a significant SEO improvement.

Rule Seven: Don't Re-Use Your Title Tag On Every Page

Many times your
website designer doesn't even realize this is being done. Your creative
team is more concerned with the visual presentation than to worry about
something they consider more of a minor 'nuisance".

Most of the
time, your website has been created from a template, which ensures that
everything looks the same -design wise- from one page to another. This is
perfect to get the site off the ground and out there. Most WYSIWYG (what
you see is what you get) editors work this way as well, templates allow for easy
production of web pages.

The drawback to
this from an SEO perspective is that the Title and Meta
tags are all repeated. To get your website off on the right foot, change
each page's title tag to reflect what the page is about. You'll be
surprised at the good this can do for each of your web site's pages.

Rule Eight: Alt Tags Matter

Every image on
your site should have an alt tag. Especially images that are relevant to the
page. If your page is focused on CSS tricks, labelling a screenshot “example of
rounded CSS corners” will improve your page’s findability. Labelling it
“screenshot” or “image” will do the opposite.

Rule Nine: Ignore Most Meta
Tags

A long time ago
meta tags were the secret to SEO. Those days are gone. The only meta tag that
really matters now is the description tag. Search engines may use it to provide
the text under the link to your page in their results. Make sure it describes
the page in a way that explains why a user searching for your content would
want to look at your page.

Rule Ten: Don't Use Keywords In Images

Your designer
might yell at you, question your judgment, or complain that it will ruin the
aesthetics of the design, but let me put it to you this way; "What good is
a great design if no one can find it?"

If your keywords
are embedded in images, the search engines have no clue that keyword is related
to your page. They cannot "see" your images. So if the
term "camel rides" is important to your business, make sure it's
actual text somewhere within your content, not part of an image.

Rule Eleven: Have a Site Map

Make sure you
have a site
map. This is an xml file that describes the structure of your page. Make
one, and give it to Google.

Providing an
HTML Version that lists the links to the pages of your site can guide the
search engine spiders to all of the pages of your site. If your
navigation is currently in flash or javascript, this is a great alternative way
of making sure the spiders find the site's pages. Make sure that your
link to your sitemap is a simple "a href" tag, not a link formed with
javascript or flash as the spiders will not be able to follow that type of
link.

Rule Twelve: Check Your Robots.txt File

Check, double
check and go back and recheck that Robots.txt file. Make sure it's in the
root folder of your domain. Ensure all the folders and files you want to
be found by the search engines are allowed. Any development folders,
javascript folders, css folders or private folders, you do not want to end up
in a search engine results should be disallowed.

For the proper
syntax of how to configure a Robots.txt file, check out:
Robotstxt.org.

Rule Thirteen: Design for Humans

Search engines
are designed to find what humans want. That means the best way to make your
site findable is to design it for humans. Your job as a designer is to solve a
problem, not make art, prove a point, serve your ego or break a boundry. In
this case, your problem is to provide your users with a site that is easy to
use and full of what they’re looking for. If you can do that, the search
engines will find you.

If you walked
into a room full of genius scientists with PHDs, do you think you could
outsmart them all? No. Google has hundreds of rooms full of genius scientists
with PHDs, and their job is to work 60 hours a week to make sure you can’t fool
Google. You can’t outsmart them. Ever. Ignore any advice on trying to cheat the
system and focus on making great web sites with great content, and your sites
will show up fine in searches.

Rule One: Stick to Your Keywords

Pick a few
keywords or phrases that describe your site. Use them, and words related to
them, whenever it’s natural to do so. Repeating them uselessly is no good (rule
Zero), use them in sentences, headlines, and links.

Tip 1:- The
title should not be long, and should use simple English. While keywords
are important in a title, do not stuff too much if it. A good set of
keywords used wisely ensures that your title appears on the first page of
search engine results. But the results of a search are read by humans, so
the title should be positive and offer something to the reader.

Tip 2:- For
starts use one of the following styles.

The How To
- People are always looking for information on how to do something. Hence
'How To' works well because it suggests a way of doing. For Example:
"How to Boost Your Self Confidence in 7 Days"

The Question
- By asking a question, you are automatically involving the reader. He
begins to think and thus gets involved. His curiosity to know what lies
in the article is aroused, and this prompts him to click. For Example:
"Does Itching Keep You Awake All Night? 7 Ways To Cure Yeast
Infection"

Tip 3:- Adding
numbers greatly boosts visits to your site. Studies have shown that
readers are attracted to odd numbers. So 3, 5, 7 works better than 2, 4,
6. So a title like "5 Tips To Organizing A Successful Party"
would work better than "How To Organize A Successful Party."

Tip 4:
Search engines will give more importance to your articles if your Primary
Keyword is found within the first 3-4 words of your article's title<span style="color: black; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 10.0pt; line-height: 150%;">.<span style="color: black; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 10.0pt; line-height: 150%;">

Tip 5: Why-You-Should: The
why-you-should article title indicates an article in which the author will
explain why the reader should do something. From completing your taxes two
months early to skiing in Colorado,
there are plenty of options for Why-You-Should articles

Tip 6: Top
[Ten] List: Numbered list article titles have always been popular
because you can break down one subject into several different subsets. A
numbered list could be comprised of products, methods or other items which
benefit the reader in some way.

Tip 7<span style="color: black; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 10.0pt; line-height: 150%;">: Physical location (country, state, city), Month,
Day, Year - Begin with a strong introductory paragraph that captures the
reader’s attention and contains the information most relevant to your
message such as the “Five W's” of (W)ho, (W)hat, (W)hen, (W)here, and
(W)hy, when applicable.

Rule Two: Content is King

Users don’t
search for design, they search for content. If your site doesn’t have content
people want, no one will look at it.

Every page on
your site should follow the Inverted Pyramid. Each page should lead with a
relevant H1 tag with one of your keywords, and the first paragraph of text
should be a summary of the rest of the page.

Google
has begun to rank them higher on search engine results pages. Google crawler
crawl Pdf pages very fast so you get ranking very fast and easily back links.

<span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> Save
items as a PDF. This isn’t ideal, because you’re actually saving the document
as an image that search engines can’t read. Search engine robots cannot read an
image based PDF file, and they will most likely completely ignore it. Using a
text based PDF editor ensures that search engines can find, read and index your
PDF files like any other website. So
Save file as text bases rather than img based

<span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";">Save the file as a PDF with a relevant file name. For example, my PDF on vegetarian Thanksgiving
recipes would be called Vegetarian-Thanksgiving-Recipes.pdf. This will also
help users identify the content of the PDF if they share it with others or save
it for later use. Search engines will read the keywords in your PDF file, and
they will interpret dashed (-) as spaces. It’s a PDF file SEO best practice to
optimize your filename with description keywords, for example: `corporate-blogging-ebook.pdf’
so always choose keyword rich file name

<span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";">The title you choose is also what Google uses in
it’s search result pages. Make sure that your <span style="font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman";">title
field is optimized with the specific keywords you want to rank well for, or
entice potential visitors to click

<span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";">

practices when writing your content. Use relevant keywords in your content, H1
and H2 tags in the copy, and make sure your images include alt tags.

<span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";">

contains a set of document properties, which are usually found in the same
place that you add a title. These properties typically include:

<span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";">

<span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> Crawlers can read links in a PDF, too. Build in links to relevant pages on your
website so readers can get back to your site from the PDF. This is particularly
important if your PDF is shared via email or social networks, as those readers
may not have been to your site before.

<span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";">

Document Properties. Open your PDF in Acrobat, and fill in the document
properties by going to the Menu and clicking File >>> Properties. You'll
see a screen pop up called Document Properties. Make sure you're on the
Description tab, and fill in the Title, Author, Subject, and Keywords fields. What
you write in the Title field will be what appears in search results. If it is
empty, search engines will auto-fill it with something in the content of your
PDF, which will likely be less relevant for a searcher. Use keywords in your
title for which you want your PDF to rank.

Unless you yourself are a brand name (which you very
well may be!), fill the Author field with your company's name. Most people see
more searches on their company than their own names.

Treat the Subject field like a meta description. Write
it for users to help drive conversions.

Fill in the Keywords field with 3 or 4 keyword phrases
you're targeting in your PDF, separating each phrase with commas.

<span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";">saving PDFs at a
lower version good for the search engines, it’s also good for users. Not
everyone has the latest versions of Acrobat Reader. Accordingly, I’d recommend
saving PDFs as version 1.5 or lower. This way it will be good for search
engines and most readers.

<span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";">

only is this annoying and unnecessary for site visitors, it’s also burdensome
for the search engines. If it’s too big, the search engines may abandon the PDF
before even getting access to its content.

<span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";">

<span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> Influence
meta descriptions for PDFs. For web
pages, the meta description is what is displayed under the title in a search
result. With PDFs, the search engines search the copy of the PDF and select
something to display. While with PDFs you have less control of what is
displayed as the description to the search result, you can still influence
this. The best way to do this is to make sure that you have a good, optimized
sentence or two near the start of your PDF. If these sentences correspond to
the search term used, it’s likely that these sentences are the ones that will
be displayed as the description under the search result’s heading.

<span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";">

<span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> Specify
the reading order: Depending on how the reading order of your PDF is
specified, this may lead the search engine to select some pretty strange stuff
to display.

<span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";">

<span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> Tag your
PDFs You can also add tags to your
PDFs, similar to html tags. Again, with the PDF open and while using the full
version of Acrobat, select Advanced>Accessibility>Add Tags to Document.
Acrobat will give you a document report and recommend things you may want to
consider changing. You’ll have the ability to tag headings, alternate text for
images, etc.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">“Exact Match” Anchor Text - If Google notices that a large number of links pointing
back to a specific page are the exact same keyword term, this is a big red
flag that you are doing something unnatural. Google expects most of your
anchor text to include your brand or domain, so if a number of links
pointing back to your site include a competitive non-branded keyword term,
they’ll assume there’s something fishy going on.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Backlink Relevance - There’s that buzzword again… relevance. Just as
important as the relevance of your own content within your site is the
relevance of the sites linking back to you. For example, if you sell
t-shirts, it wouldn’t make sense to have a large number of links from
websites that sell fruit. The relevance of the sites linking to you as an
authority on a specific topic should be loosely tied to what you actually
do. Sites that have links from many irrelevant sites is also a red flag
for Google that something isn’t quite right.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Whenever the search marketing industry gets wind of a Google
algorithm update, it becomes a major topic of discussion. Articles are
inevitably published on the specifics of the latest update and how to
recover lost rankings for penalized sites. With the exception of
historic changes to Google’s algorithm, such as the Panda and Penguin
updates that fundamentally changed the way website publishers had to
approach their optimization strategies, algorithm updates should not
receive nearly as much attention as they currently do.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Google Algorithm Updates Are Constant

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Google updates its algorithm constantly. According to Moz,
Google changes its algorithm 500 to 600 times per year. However, we
only know about the updates that Google wants us to know about. Why? So,
we can help Google serve higher-quality search results to their users.
Essentially, Google’s algorithm updates remind us to constantly improve
our websites. In return, we are rewarded with better rankings and more
traffic. By making your website better, you’re making Google Search
better, which is good for both Google’s bottom line and yours.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Google’s Objectives Are Not Rocket Science

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Google’s primary objective is to make money. Google’s core business
is advertising, and Google wants people to use its search engine in
order to sell advertising via pay-per-click (PPC) ads. In order to sell
PPC ads, Google.com must generate traffic, and a lot of it. Google knows
people are more inclined to use a search engine that provides them with
higher quality search results. Thus, providing high-quality search
results ensures Google.com generates enough traffic to sell PPC ads.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Why Is This Important?

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Understanding Google’s objectives makes having a successful long-term
SEO strategy much easier to obtain. You can spend a lot of time
analyzing Google’s algorithm updates and attempt to outsmart them, which
will inevitably fail, or you can implement a strategy that helps Google
achieve its objectives of providing users with high-quality search
results so it can sell PPC ads, and succeed.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Focus on the User and All Else Will Follow

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Google has a list of "10 things we know to be true" within the Company Overview section of its website. The first item on this list says, Focus on the user, and all else will follow.
Google Search certainly incorporates this philosophy, and when it comes
to your website, the same is true. Focus on providing your end-users
with the content and experience they expect from your website, and all
else (i.e., rankings, traffic, and conversions) will follow.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Conclusion

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">This is not to say you should completely ignore Google algorithm
updates when they’re announced. It simply means as long as your SEO
strategy is in line with Google’s objectives, and focuses on providing
users with great content and a positive user-experience, algorithm
changes should not be a concern.

Google Search Engine works according to the background algorithm provided. The most helpful element behind Google Search is its crawler. The Google Crawler crawl the content of about 60 trillion websites present on web. Google Crawler make a successful search by crawling and indexing about 60 trillion website in just fraction of second (1/8 th part of second). Google Search Engine is the fastest known search engine ever. Google Search Engine also remove the spams from the search queries and produce the real and fresh content in the search queries. So let’s start about knowing about the process behind How Google Search Engine Works?

Google Panda 2014

Google keeps the track of all websites by crawling i.e. Google follows the links from page to page. This is upon the user that whether he/she wants their sites to get crawled by the Google Crawler. Google sort out the content of various sites by their content.

The process starts with the writing a content in either form like writing a blog, tweeting, updating a website or adding the content on web by any way.

After this step of writing the content, Google Crawler starts working. Google Crawler crawls about 60 trillions of sites and come across your unique blog.

Google Bot always follows link. In case you have links to you site, it will get crawled deeply and regularly.

If you set robots.txt not to crawl your site, than your site will not get crawled. Also if any link to you site have any no follow tag than Google Bot will not come to your site by that link.

Google crawler can also find your content, blog or a website with the help of XML Sitemaps. The more back links you are having from high ranking websites or pages the more higher authority your content or blog is having, till it is not tagged “no follows”.

After being crawled by Google, the content goes for Google Indexing. All the page content are stored in a reverse index, all page titles and links are stored in one index and are used for competitive and broad searches. While the content on page are stored in another index and are used for long tail searches. During search Google presents the caches which keeps on updating regularly.

Based on the links and back links present, Google estimate the page and domain overall authority by the owner.

Then Google takes a part of second in checking the pages that whether they are obeying the Google policies or not. Google take down the spammed sites and the site on which there is present any sort of pirated and copied content. Google gets the DMCA notifications and Google search Quality Team keeps on refining the algorithm.

When we type the text for search, Google locates the keywords and synonyms to gather the similar words for including in search query.

Search query consists of millions of results related to the search words but only thousands of them appear. Google give more preference to the local websites.

Google also starts finding the relevant ads based on the keywords you typed in search box. Ads with high cpc and high click through rate are shown above the search result.

The pages with duplicate content are removed from the search queries.

Many Google Filters are also applied to the search result. In Universal search filter Google displays the mix result of news, video, book, song etc. results. Local inter connectivity leads to the high ranking if the content is linked to high ranking sites. If the search keyword have a lot of popularity and is in a boost search then Google give the priority to the fresh new results. Google can cluster multiple pages from same domain if the domain is having the high page rank.

After processing from the filter, the organic results for the search results are displayed. Also the ads related to search keywords are displayed above the links.

This complex process take place in 1/8 th of the second and about for 100 billion times a day. Google produces about 20 billion dollars every year.

HTML size

Page size matters because search engines limit size of a cached page. For example, Google will only cache a full page if the size of its HTML is less than 101 Kb (images and external scripts are not included). Yahoo! caches text of up to 500 Kb per page. This means if your HTML page is too large, search engines will not cache the full page, and only the top part of the text will be searchable.

Last modified

This attribute shows how old the document is. It is taken from the server response to HTTP request. You can see if your page has been updated lately.

Same color text and background

If the color of the text on a page is close to the background color, the text becomes almost invisible. As a rule, this technique is employed to populate a page with keywords without damaging its design. Since it is considered as spam by most search engines, we suggest that you do not try it. NOTE: If a text of the same color as the background is found on the analyzed page, hover cursor on the parameter value (in our case - Yes) to see a floating hint for the improper text and tag.

Tiny text

If a page uses Cascading Style Sheets and there are fonts smaller than 4 pixels, they are reported as tiny texts. Most search engines consider tiny texts as an abusive practice - this is why you should avoid using them. NOTE: If the instance of tiny text is found on the analyzed page, hover cursor on the parameter value (in our case - Yes) to see a floating hint for the improper text and tag.

Immediate keyword repeats

The same keyword repeated one after the other a few times, for example air tickets on-line, air tickets, air tickets, air tickets, air tickets in Hong Kong is a questionable trick. For this example, there will be three repetitions reported, because the keyword was placed three times in a row after it was used first. Such repetitions are considered as spam by most search engines.

Controls

If the page has HTML tags (HTML only, not other scripts) that create controls, it will be mentioned in the report. Try to avoid too many controls on your page, especially in the top area, since it may decrease your keyword prominence and result in low rankings.

Frames

Frames use is reported here. Not all search engines support frames, i.e. can follow from a frameset page to content frames and index texts. If your website consists of frames, and you cannot redesign it, you can solve this problem by putting the content of an optimized page with links to other pages into a <NOFRAMES> HTML tag.

External and Internal JavaScript

If there is a Script tag with a link to a JavaScript external file on the page, it will be mentioned under 'External JavaScript'.

Embedded (internal) JavaScript representing the full content of the SCRIPT tag will be reported here as internal JavaScript use. Do not use too many embedded scripts on the page, because your keyword prominence will be reduced, and thus your page will be ranked lower on search engines. We advise putting the script in an external file or move it as close to the closing Body tag as possible.

External and Internal VBScript

If an external VB Script file is referenced from the page, it will be mentioned under 'External VBScript'.

Detected internal VBScript within the SCRIPT tag will be reported as Internal VBScript use. Please note that excessive use of scripts in the top area of the page dilute keyword prominence and therefore affect your rankings. Put the script in an external file or move it as close to the closing Body tag as possible.

File robots.txt allows spidering

Robots.txt is a text file placed in the root directory of a website to tell robots on how to spider the website. Only robots that comply with the Robots Exclusion Standard will read and obey the commands in this file. Robots.txt is often used to prevent robots from visiting some pages and subdirectories not intended for public use. However, if you want search engine robots to spider your site, there should not be disallowing commands included within this file for all or particular search engine robots.

area

Each HTML document should have a HEAD tag at the beginning of each document. The information contained inside the head tag (
...
) describes the document, but it doesn't show up on the page returned to the browser. The Title tag and meta tags are found inside the Head tag.

tag

Syntax:
Web Page Title

An HTML tag within the Head tag is used to define the title of a Web page. The content of the Title tag is displayed by browsers on the Title bar located at the top of the browser window. Search engines use the Title tag to provide a link to the site matching the user's query. The text in the Title tag is one of the most important factors influencing search engine ranking algorithms. By populating your most important keywords in the Title tag, you dramatically increase the search engine ranking of the page for those keywords.

Stop Words

To save space and speed up searching, some search engines exclude common words from their index, therefore these words are ignored when searches are carried out.

'The', 'or', 'in', 'it' are examples of such words. These words are known as "stop words." To make your pages search engine-friendly, you should avoid using stop words in the most important areas of your page like title, meta tags, headings, alternative image attributes, anchor names, etc.

Besides, stop words have no contextual meaning - using them in short areas such as a title, headings, and anchor texts will reduce weight, prominence and the frequency of keywords.

Keyword frequency

Frequency is the number of times your keyword is used in the analyzed area of the page.

Example: If the page's first heading is 'Get the best XYZ services provided by XYZ Company', frequency of keyword 'XYZ' in the heading will be two. Frequency relates only to the exact matches of a keyword. Therefore, frequency of key phrase 'XYZ services' will be one, because as exact match, this keyword is used only once.

Search engines use frequency as a measure of keyword importance.

Search engines rate pages with more keywords as more relevant results, and score them higher. However, you should not use too many keywords, since most search engines will penalize you for this practice for being seen as an attempt to artificially inflate rankings.

Keyword weight (density)

Keyword weight is a measure of how often a keyword is found in a specific area of the Web page like a title, heading, anchor name, visible text, etc. Unlike keyword frequency, which is just a count, keyword weight is a ratio.

Keyword weight will depend on the type of keyword, that is if the keyword is a single word or phrase. If the keyword includes two or more words, for example, 'XYZ services', every word in the key phrase (i.e. both 'XYZ' and 'services') contributes to the weight ratio in the weight formula, and not as one keyword ('XYZ services').

Keyword weight is calculated as the number of words in the key phrase multiplied by frequency and divided by the total number of words (including the keyword).

Example: The title of a Web page is 'Get Best XYZ Services'. Keyword weight for 'XYZ services' is 2*1/4*100%=50%. If you reduce the number of words in the title by removing the word 'get', so the title becomes 'Best XYZ Services', than the keyword weight will be larger: 2*1/3*100%=67%. Finally, if you only keep 'XYZ Services' in the title, the keyword weight will become 100% -- 2*1/2*100%.

So, to increase the keyword weight, you should either add some more keywords or reduce the number of words in the page area. The proportion of the keywords to all words will become larger, so will the keyword weight.

Many search engines calculate keyword weight when they rank pages for a particular keyword. Normally, high keyword weight tell search engines that the keyword is extremely important in the text; however, a weight that is too high can make search engines suspect you of spamming and they will penalize your website's rankings.

Keyword Prominence

Prominence is another measure of keyword importance that relates to the proximity of a keyword to the beginning of the analyzed page area. Being the keyword that is used at the beginning of the Title, Heading, or on top of the visible text of the page is considered more important than other words. Prominence is a ratio that is calculated separately for each important page area such as a title, headings, visible text, anchor tags, etc.

HTML pages are written in a document-like fashion. The most important items of a document's visible text are placed at the top, and their importance is gradually reduced towards the bottom. This idea can be also applied to keyword prominence. Normally, the closer a keyword to the top of a page and to the beginning of a sentence, the higher its prominence is. However, search engines also check if the keyword is present in the middle and at the bottom of the page, so you should place some keywords there too.

The prominence formula takes the following factors into account:

1) Keyword positions in the area,

2) Number of words in the keyword, and

3) Total number of words in the area.

100% prominence is given to a keyword or keyphrase that appears at the beginning of the analyzed page area.

Example 1: Let's take the page title 'Daily horoscopes on your desktop' and analyze prominence of keyphrase 'daily horoscopes'. The title word order will be: 'Keyword1, keyword2, word3, word4, word5'. Prominence will be 100% here as the keyphrase is present at the beginning of the sentence.

The keyword/keyphrase in the middle of the analyzed area will have 50% prominence.

Example 2: The anchor name is 'Find here the daily horoscope for your sign'. The keyword prominence of the phrase 'daily horoscope' in this case will be 50% as the keyphrase is located in the middle of the sentence -- 'Word1, word2, word3, keyword4, keyword5, word6, word7, word8'.

As a keyword appears farther back in the area, its prominence will be counted from zero and it will depend on how close to the end it is. If the keyword appears at the end of the area, its prominence will be close to 0%. If the keyword appears at the beginning of the area and then is repeated in the middle or at the end, its prominence will be 100% because prominence of the fist used keyword prevails over the repeated keywords.

META Description

Syntax: < META name="Description" content="Web page description">

This is a Meta tag that provides a brief description of a Web page. It is important the description clearly describes the purpose of the page. The importance of the Description tag as an element of the ranking algorithm has decreased significantly over years, but there are still search engines that support this tag. They log descriptions of the indexed pages and often display them with the Title in their results.

The length of a displayed description varies per search engine. Therefore you should place the most important keywords at the beginning of the first sentence -- this will guarantee that both users and search engines will see the most important information about your site.

META Keywords

Syntax: < META name="Keywords" content="keyword1, keyword2, keyword3">

This is Meta tag that lists the words or phrases about the contents of the Web page. This tag provides some additional text for crawler-based search engines. However because of frequent attempts to abuse their system, most search engines ignore this tag. Please note that none of the major crawler-based search engines except Inktomi provide support for the Keywords Meta tag.

Similar to the description tag, there is a limit in the number of captured characters in Keywords meta tag. Ensure you've chosen keywords that are relevant to the content of your site. Avoid repetitions as search engines can penalize your rankings. Move the most important keywords to the beginning to increase their prominence.

META Refresh

Syntax: < META http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=http://newURL.com/">

This HTML META tag also belongs in the Head tag of your HTML page.

The META Refresh tag is often used as a way to redirect the viewer to another Web page or refresh the content of the viewed page after a specified number of seconds. The META Refresh tag is also sometimes used as a doorway page optimized for a certain search engine, which is accessed first by users, who then are redirected to the main website. Some search engines discourage the use of this META tag, because it is an opportunity for webmasters to spam search engines with similar pages that all lead to the same page. In addition, this also clutters the search engines databases with irrelevant and multiple versions of the same data. Try to avoid doorways and redirects altogether in your Web building.

META Robots

Syntax: < META name="Robots" content="INDEX,FOLLOW">

The robots instructions are normally placed in a robots.txt file that is uploaded to the root directory of a domain. However, if a webmaster does not have access to /robots.txt, then instructions can be placed in the Robots META tag. This tag tells the search engine robots whether a page should be indexed and included in the search engine database and its links followed.

The content of the robots meta tag is a comma separated list that may contain the following commands:

ALL also INDEX,FOLLOW -- there are no restrictions on indexing the page or following links; NONE also NOINDEX,NOFOLLOW -- robots must ignore the page; a combination of INDEX, FOLLOW, NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW -- if you want a search engine robot just to index a page but not to follow links, you should specify 'INDEX,NOFOLLOW', if you want it to follow links without indexing the page, you should instruct robots as 'NOINDEX,FOLLOW'.

The purpose of the check done by Web CEO is to ensure there are no commands that might prevent search engine robots from indexing a page and following links. For that reason, 'ALL' or 'INDEX, FOLLOW' are commands expected in this tag.

area

The body tag indentifies the beginning of the main section of your Web page, the main content area. The whole of the Web page is designed between the opening and closing body tag. (
...
) including all images, links, text, headings, paragraphs, and forms.

The recommendations on how to use keywords in the BODY tag are the same as in other important areas. Your primary keywords should be placed at the top of your body tag (first paragraph) and as close to the beginning of a sentence as possible. Do not forget to use them again in each paragraph. Keywords should not be repeated one after another. For search engines that check keyword presence at the bottom of the body tag, you should use your most important keywords within the last paragraph from the closing body tag.

Visible text

The content of the Body tag includes both visible and invisible text. The term 'Visible text' refers to the portion that is displayed by the browser. The visible text analyzed by Web CEO is all within the Body tag but exclude HTML Comments (invisible) and ALT Tags (partially visible).

Extra emphasis by search engines is put on keywords when you underline them or make them bold, thus helping higher rankings for these keywords.

First heading on the page (H1-H6)

Syntax:
Keyword in the Heading
, < H3>Keyword in the Heading
, etc.

It is important the keyword is present in the very first heading tag on the page regardless of its type. If the keyword is also used as a first word, you will raise its prominence.

All headings

There are standard rules for the structure of HTML pages. They are written in a document-like fashion. In a document, you start with the title, then a major heading that usually describes the main purpose of the section. Subheadings highlight the key points of each subsection. Many search engines rank the words found in headings higher than the words found in the text of the document. Some search engines incorporate keywords by looking at all the heading tags on a page.

Links

Syntax: keyword

Anchor tags on the page can also have keyword-rich text as anchor names. This text can be important to some search engines and therefore also for the rankings of the destination pages. Create anchored links with keywords in them to link pages of your website.

Text in links including ALTs

Syntax: )

Images like buttons, banners, etc. may include Alt attributes as a text comment describing the graphic image. If this image has been used as a hyperlink, the Alt attribute is interpreted as a link text by some search engines, and the destination page will have a significant boost in rankings for the keyword in the Alt attribute. Use graphic links with keyword-rich Alts to link pages of your website.

ALT image attributes

Syntax:

Optimization of Alt image attributes gives you another opportunity to use keywords. It is advantageous if the page is designed with large graphics and very little text. Include the target keyword in at least the first three Alt attributes.

Comments

Syntax:

This tag lets webmasters write notes about the page code, which is only for their guidance and is invisible to the browser. Most search engines do not read the content of this tag, so Comments optimization will not be as helpful as Title optimization. The Comment tags should be populated with keywords only if the design of the Web page does not allow more efficient and search engine-friendly methods.

Keyword in URL

Having keyword in your domain name and / or folder names and file names increases your chances to gain top positions for these keywords. If you aren't a brand-oriented business, it is recommended that you purchase the domain name that contains your keyword. If your keyphrase consists of more than one keyword, the best way to separate them in the URL is with a hyphen "-":

www.my-keyphrase-here.com

If it seems impossible to get such a domain name, or your site is already well established over a keyword-poor domain, attempt to compensate it by using keywords in folder and file names of your site's file system on the server.

Link popularity

This is the number of links from other website pages to your page that search engines are aware of.

Each search engine only lists links embedded on the sites that are preindexed by that particular search engine. So, the presence of certain links in Google's index will not guarantee that Inktomi has also indexed the same sites. Therefore the number of links shown will be different from engine to engine.

In general, the more links that point to your page, the better your page will rank.

However, a large number of links is not the deciding factor that helps your site get to the top of the results pages -- the quality of those links is of greater importance. If a link to your site is placed on a page having very little importance that is this page itself is linked to only a few other pages or none, this kind of link will not improve a page's popularity. The links to your pages should be subject-relevant because theme-based search engines will check the parity of content between referring and referred pages. The closer they are, the more relevant your site page is to the searcher's query for your keyword. Avoid reciprocal linking with sites that have a low weight, or a questionable reputation or are different from yours in subject matter. As a part of their anti-spam measures, search engines can penalize your site's rankings for ignoring these pitfalls.

Theme

For spam-free and relevant results, search engines start evaluating sites as one page to find the main theme covering all pages of the site. Most major search engines have become theme-based.

Search engines extract and analyze words on all pages of a website to discover its theme. The more keywords found on your website that relate to the user's query, the more points you get for the theme. Therefore, if your Web business includes many products or services, try to find the theme that covers them all.

To analyze the theme of your site, the program follows links on the analyzed page and sees if there are keywords in the Body, titles, and descriptions of the linked pages.

Open Directory Project listing (dmoz.org)

The ODP (also known as DMOZ) is the largest human-edited directory on the Web. Many major search engines use the ODP data to provide their directory results. This works because sites put forward for inclusion in the ODP are reviewed by real people who care about the quality of their directory.

It is still a good for a website to be present in the ODP. For new sites, it is an excellent starting point, because Google regularly spiders the ODP to update its own directory based on the ODP listings, and if your site is included, you'll get a link that Google believes important enough to start off crawling your site.

As well as the weight of a link from the ODP, it would be even better if the site were listed in the most topic-specific category to make the link not only important, but also content-relevant.

Yahoo! Directory listing

This is similar to the ODP -- Google relationship. The Yahoo! directory is regularly crawled by the Yahoo! robots. A new site has a greater chance of being included faster in the Yahoo! search engine if there is a link to this site from the Yahoo! directory. If you get your site is listed within the Yahoo! category closest to your site theme, this particular link will help your site move up.

Total number of words (Density report)

This number tells you how many words there are in all page areas (e.g. TITLE, Meta Description and Meta Keywords) chosen for analysis. The more words, the better, however you should look through the density report and decide if the keywords and key phrases you'd like to rank high for have enough density, i.e. they are repeated enough times throughout this text. The bigger this total word count, the more times your key term combination has to be repeated across these page areas.

User agent

A user agent is the client application used with a particular network protocol; Web user agents range from web browsers to search engine crawlers ("spiders").When Internet users visit a website, a text string is generally sent to identify the user agent to the server. This forms part of the HTTP request, prefixed with User-agent: or User-Agent: and typically includes information such as the application name, version, host operating system, and language.

Search Engine Bot

Search engine bot is a type of web crawlers which collects web documents to generate and maintain index for the search engines.

Rank Details

'Rank details" shows your and your competitors' link popularity and traffic, using Google PR and Alexa Traffic Rank.

Google PageRank is the measure of a page’s importance in Google’s opinion. PR calculations are based on how many quality and relevant sites across the Web link to this page. The higher the PageRank of the referring page, the more weight this link has.

Alexa Traffic Rank is a combined measure of page views and users (reach). This information is gathered with the help of Alexa Toolbar used by millions of Web surfers. First, Alexa calculates the reach and number of page views for all sites on the Web on the daily basis. Then these two quantities are averaged over time.

Backlinks Theme

To determine your site rankings, search engines take into consideration theme relevance of those sites linking to you. If the linking sites have something in common with yours (keywords in the BODY, titles, descriptions of the linked pages, etc.), your website gets better chances to gain high positions for these keywords.

PR Statistics for linking sites

PR Statistics for linking sites is statistic information about the Page Rank of the pages linking to you. Statistics are presented both in numerical and percentage terms. The higher the PR of the referring site, the better chances your own Web page has to get high PR.

Among the few robust markup languages designed, XML includes to be a language which can be used in various ways and for many different applications. However, with more and more usage of XML in many different platforms it has encountered with one problem that tends to occur with majority of problems in namespace. At such juncture, XML namespaces comes into picture. Now what are XML namespaces and what are its uses. XML Namespaces are methods and ideas which are used to avoid element name conflicts which tend to create problems. Thus they play a pivotal role in rendering uniquely named elements and attributes in an XML document.

Now how is the XML Namespaces defined, they are defined in a W3C recommendation. An XML instance may comprise of attribute or element names from more than one XML vocabulary. So with such case, if each vocabulary is given a namespace then the ambiguity between identically named elements or attributes can be resolved. A simple example can be if you consider an XML instance that contained references to a customer and an ordered product. Both the product element and the customer element could have a next generation id or in other words child element named id. So putting their references to these id elements can be confusing and perplexing, thus the need of placing them in with different namespace can avoid this confusion and thus remove the ambiguity.

Now what are these namespace called? These namespace are commonly known as uniform resource identifier which is usually denoted as URI. Generally, these URI chosen for the namespace of a given XML vocabulary defines a resource under the control of the designer or author or the organization defining the vocabulary, such as a URL for the author's Web server. However, the namespace specification does not require nor suggest that the namespace URI be used to retrieve information; it is simply treated by an XML parser as a string. For example, the document at http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml itself does not contain any code. It simply describes the XHTML namespace to human readers. Using a URI (generally the links like "http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml") to identify a namespace, rather than a simple string (such as "XHTML"), reduces the prospects of diverse namespaces using duplicate identifiers.

However, this very term of XML Namespace is quiet popular, and commonly used, the W3C Recommendation refers to it as the namespace name. The specification is not entirely prescriptive about the precise rules for namespace names (as it does not explicitly say or define that parsers must reject documents where the namespace name is not a valid Uniform Resource Identifier), and many XML parsers allow any character string to be used. In version 1.1 of the reference, the namespace name becomes an Internationalized Resource Identifier, which licenses the use of non-ASCII characters that in practice were already accepted by nearly all XML software. The term namespace URI persists, however, not only in popular usage but also in many other stipulations from W3C and elsewhere.

After the publication of the Namespaces recommendation, we saw an extensive and intensive debate about how a relative URI should be used and handled, with some arguing that it should simply be treated as a character string, and others argue that it should be turned into an absolute URI by resolving it against the base URI of the document. The result of the debate was a ruling from W3C that relative URIs were deprecated to the masses.

The use of URIs taking the form of URLs in the http format (such as http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml) is popular, despite the absence of any formal relationship with the HTTP protocol. The Namespaces specification does not say what should happen or work if such a URL comes with dereferences which means, if the software attempts to retrieve a document from this location. One method or convention adopted by some users is to place a RDDL document at the location. So in other words generally speaking, the users should assume that the namespace URI is simply a name, not the address of a document on the web.

After all the above discussion about the XML namespace, the question arises is to how actually this markup language is used or applied. XML namespaces is a special type of reserved XML attribute that you place in an XML tag. The reserved attribute is actually more like a prefix that you attach to any namespace you create. This attribute prefix is "XMLNS:", which stands for XML namespace. The colon is used to separate the prefix from your namespace that you are creating. The following are the methods of writing XML namespace.

XML Code:

<? xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-15"?>
<html:html xmlns:html='http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/'>
<html:body>
<html:p>Welcome to my Health Resource</html:p>
</html:body>
<health:body xmlns:health='http://www.example.org/health'>
<health:height>6ft

<health:weight>155 lbs</weight>
</health:body>
</html:html>

Luckily for you, there are a few things that you can do to speed up the process. By following these methods, I usually have might sites indexed and appearing in search results within 48 hours.

Before taking action, you should first ensure that your website is optimized and search engine friendly. Make sure the code is clean and correct, you can run your HTML through a validation tool to check this. Also make sure that you have linked every page together so the search engines can easily crawl through every page on your website. Its also advisable to ensure that you have spell checked and proof read your content, and everything is polished and complete, particularly taking care to make sure all the links are working and none are broken. Once you have done this, you are ready to take action.

The first thing you should do after uploading your website is to social bookmark your URL with a few of the top social bookmarking sites. I usually use five different sites. Because these social bookmarking sites are so large, and are constantly updated with new content, the search engines bots crawl them regularly. It will only take a matter of minutes before your link is found, and the bots crawl your website too.

After I have social bookmarked my URL, I will make a few posts to well known popular forums, with my link in the signature. Just one post on two or three different forums is enough. Make sure that they are well established, frequently updated forums, so you can be sure that the search engine crawlers visit the site regularly. Again, it should take less than an hour for your link to be found and for the search engine crawlers to visit your page.

The next stage is to submit an article to a well known article directory, search engines are regularly crawling through the new pages. Your article with a link back to your new site will be found very quickly, and again your site will be crawled also.

The final part of my strategy is to post a few comments on some popular blogs. Ideally you are looking for blogs that have been established for a few years, are updated daily with new content, and have a high number of visitors. Leaving your link in with a blog comment will again send the search engine crawlers your way.

By combining these methods, you are creating a powerful system to ensure that your web pages are crawled thoroughly, and that your site is indexed fast. The sooner your site is indexed, the sooner you will start receiving free organic search engine traffic.

Brand your traffic

Use the title of your site or brand at the beginning or end of every title tag to help searchers know where they're going and to increase return visits. If you're struggling to find justification for this component, think of all the ad studies showing that consumers are willing to pay more for a "brand name" product than an off-brand or store brand item of the same type - apply this logic to the SERPs and you'll find that users will go further down the rankings to click on a "trusted" brand.

Limit length to 65 characters (including spaces) or less

There's no reason to cut off the last word and have it replaced with a "..." Note that the engines have fluctuated recently and Google, in particular, is now supporting up to 70 characters in some cases.

Incorporate keyword phrases

This one may seem obvious, but it's critical that whatever your keyword research shows as being the most valuable for capturing searches gets prominently included in your title tag. It doesn't have to be the first words, but it should be the semantic and logical center of attention.

Target longer phrases if they're relevant

When choosing what keywords to include in a title tag, I often like to use as many as are completely relevant to the page at hand, while remaining accurate and descriptive. Thus, it can be much more valuable to have a title tag like "Blogspot | Google Seo Rules with Algorithm" rather than simply "Blogspot | Google Seo Rules" - including those additional terms that are both relevant to the page and receive significant search traffic can bolster your page's value. However, if you have a separate landing page for "Skiing accessories" than for "equipment," then you shouldn't include one term in the other's title - you'll be cannibalizing your rankings by forcing the engines to choose which page on your site is more relevant.

Use a divider

When splitting up the brand from the descriptive, I like to use the "|" symbol (aka the pipe bar). Others choose the arrow ">" or hyphen "-" and both work well. At times, however, I've found it useful to use the arrow or hyphen inside a title tag, as with a title like "blogspot | Articles > Keyword Research - A Beginner's Guide" hence my love of the pipe bar.

Choosing the right keywords to base your site optimization around is an important first step. General or generic keywords are usually not the best approach, and sometimes it's better to be a little more specific and focus on niche keywords relating to your product or service.

For example, let's talk about www.devedit.com -- DevEdit is our WYSIWYG HTML editing component that drops into browser-based applications.

The problem is, there are a LOT of WYSIWYG HTML editors, but how can we get DevEdit to appear in Google's top 10 rankings? Well, let's see. Trying to optimize for the keyword "HTML" alone would be a tough task, as it's too general. There are HTML editors, HTML tutorials, HTML articles, etc.

We need to be more specific, which means:

Targeting a more suitable market that is looking for a content editing solution

Competing with fewer websites targeting the same keywords

Optimizing for keywords that people actually use when performing searches

Targeting a suitable market will depend on your website, as well as the products and services you offer. Try to be specific with your keywords, and remember that people no longer use single keyword search phrases - the average search phrase contains 3-5 related words.

For example, if you're optimizing for a web development site and you're located in Sydney, Australia, use keywords such as "web development Sydney" or "web development services Australia".

To find out how many websites are competing with your keywords -- either intentionally or not -- simply do a search on Google and note down how many results are returned. In our case, for "online html editor", we're competing with 9,080,000 sites. The more sites that are competing for your keywords, the harder it will be to get on the front page.

Alternatively, to get a rough indication of how many people are actually searching for the keywords you want to optimize your site for, use the Overture search suggestion tool. It's not exact, and doesn't measure Google searches, but it does give a very good estimate.

The Overture search suggestion tool will also provide you with a list of similar keywords, based on the keywords you enter. This can be a great way to find other keywords to optimize your site for.

As a rough guideline, try to optimize every page on your site for a different search phrase. Each search phrase should contain 2 to 3 highly targeted keywords.

There are many ways to help get your site higher in the search engine results, but perhaps 3 of the most overlooked are 3 of the easiest.

1. The Alt Attribute

There's really nothing special about the Alt attribute other than it gives you a great opportunity to place another reference to those targeted keywords on your page.

The Alt attribute does not function on it's own; it is contained within the HTML tag. The idea behind the Alt attribute is that when the image does not display, the information in the Alt attribute will be displayed in it's place. With most web browsers, the Alt text (as the actual text within the Alt attribute is called) is displayed when the image is hovered over with the mouse. Visually impaired web surfers will also be served the Alt text in their readers.

Acceptable Usage of the Alt Attribute for SEO

The Alt attribute can help your website to gain rank in the search engines, but it can also hurt your site if you abuse it. The following examples are some unacceptable Alt text implementations:

Besides risking a penalty for keyword stuffing, using alt text like the examples above just plain look bad and can detract from your online reputation.The following does not work if you are using FireFox as FireFox does not show Alt text or images that fail to load.Hover over the picture below to see how bad this looks to site visitors.Hover over the image and if you are not using FireFox you would see the alt text laundry list of keywords.

It looks even worse when the picture fails to load.

You should see either the alt text alone, or the symbol for a broken picture along with the alt text.

A quality guideline now becomes a rule.

Every month we raise the quality bar a little. This month is no different. Effective immediately, we’ve tightened our standards on how many words are accepted in anchor text links – and for good reason.

An “Anchor Text Link” is a clickable word or phrase that links to another web page.

Sadly, some authors abuse this ability by linking-up extremely long key phrases – or worse yet, entire sentences. Before you know it, a quality article looks like SPAM because it’s filled with giant text links. Suddenly the emphasis of the article is shifted from providing useful information to merely serving as a vehicle for link space in a spammy resource box.

Our Editorial Guidelines suggest limiting anchor text links to only 3 words but …

Expert Authors can now earn the ability to link-up 4-word and 5-word phrases* by submitting lengthier (over 400 words) high-quality articles.

BOTTOM LINE:

If your article is shorter than 400 words, each text link may only contain a maximum of 3 words*

If your article is longer than 400 words, each text link may only contain a maximum of 5 words*

* Important Note: Any common words, including to, is, in, on, it, and, at, by, a, an and others will now be excluded from the word count.

Make sense?

Member feedback is what lead us to study, and then allow, the “common words” to *not* count towards the total words allowed in an anchor text link.

The latest update, dubbed by Google forum users as "Allegra", has left some web sites in the dust and catapulted others to top positions. Major updates like this can happen a few times a year at Google, which is why picking the right search engine optimization company can be the difference between online success and failure. However, it becomes an increasingly difficult decision when SEO firms themselves are suffering from the Allegra update.

What is Semantic Code/HTML you ask?

Basically, it’s a way of writing your HTML in a more meaningful, structured and to be honest, sensible way. It’s all about using your header tags (H1, H2, etc) for yep, you guessed it – headers, instead of bolding the text and increasing the font size with the old tag. For paragraphs, use the
tag rather than sizing the font and adding hundreds of line breaks, for lists use the
tag, and so on. If you want to add an image, you use the <img=…> tag because it’s the tag for inserting images, so it stands to reason really that when you’re adding a heading, list, etc, you use the correct tag, not some sort of bodge. Got it? Great.

In the Design and content guidelines sub-section of Google’s Webmaster Guidelines there is a paragraph that reads “…. write pages that clearly and accurately describe your content”. The only way I know of achieving this objective easily is to use semantic markup.
Semantic markup means using html elements that are appropriate to ‘content meaning’ rather than ‘content presentation’. A simple example might be using for emphasis in some cases rather than for italic because only tells the browser what to do and does not explain what the content represents.

Apart from helping Google there are other advantages in separating content from presentation and using semantic markup. For example much easier code maintenance and correct interpretation by other user agents like audio screen reader software.
So why use Semantic HTML? What are the benefits? Why can’t I just do things my way?

Well you can just do things your way if you want, but I’d probably not advise it. The biggest benefit of using Semantic Code is that you’ll be adhering to the Internet standard. And the benefit of that is that when things change and progress as they like to do on the Internet, the stuff that makes your site work isn’t going to get left behind.

Another great benefit is that it’ll make your pages load quicker. You whack all the crap and formatting in an external stylesheet, and it only needs to be declared and loaded once. For example:

<fieldset>

Crappy HTML – HELLO!

Over the top XHTML –
Hello!

Semantic HTML –
Hello!

</fieldset>
